Many of you have received an email from Old Colony Library Network about upcoming changes to library services. Here is all the information you need about what is happening in April and how it will affect you.

  • OCLN libraries are getting an entirely new computer software system for managing check outs, holds, billing, and other functions in April. This change has been in the works for several years.
  • In order to switch systems across all OCLN libraries, the network staff will need to take our system offline from April 27th through the 29th.
  • During that time, patrons and staff won’t be able to use the catalog, check books in or out, place holds, renew books, or download items from Libby or Hoopla. Electronic materials that have already been downloaded should still be accessible on your devices.
  • Because none of our core library services will be available, the library will be closed to patrons April 27-29. Staff will be using that time for trainings and professional development activities.
  • Ventress Library will reopen on 4/30 with a new system — please be patient with us as we put the new system to use!
  • The catalog will look different starting 4/30. The new version will have more information available to users. Look for information and classes about how to use the new catalog in early May.
  • If you have any questions about the closures or changes to the catalog, please give us a call!
