Banned Book Read-In
Saturday, October 10th 11 AM – 4 PM
This Banned Books Week, the Ventress Memorial Library is teaming up with librofm and SilentBookClub to host a Banned Books Read-In. Join us on 10/10/26 from 11-4 PM to read a selection of books that have faced censorship and to participate in a community project.
Attendees will also receive a free audio copy of either Banned Together or How to Defend Books and Why on librofm.
Halloween Costume Swap
Sept. 16 – Oct. 31
Get a jump start on your Halloween planning with our Costume Swap. Starting September 16th, you’ll be able to drop off gently used costumes and accessories for kids, adults, and pets. Stop by the shelving unit outside the children’s room to see what’s new, and let your spooky imagination run wild.
Trivia Night with the Friends
October 27th, 6:30 p.m. at Marshfield Country Club
Join the Friends of the Ventress Library for an exciting evening of dinner and trivia at the Marshfield Country Club. Tickets are $30 and include a buffet meal and trivia entry. Tables can accommodate teams of 8-10 people; smaller teams may be asked to share a table with another team, with no obligation to combine teams.
Open Makerspace
Mondays 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
The Ventress Memorial Library will be hosting drop-in makerspace sessions once a week. During this time visitors can drop in and choose to use available materials in the Makerspace. The maximum room capacity is three so drop-ins will be on a first come first serve basis. You can choose to use any of the available resources such as the sewing machine, the Cricut, the jewelry making kit and so much more! The 3-D printers will not be running during this time but anyone looking to request a print is welcome to drop in to learn about how to find/ make STL files.
This program is open to individuals 16 and up without supervision, ages 11 and up are welcome to use the room with an adult.

Art Break

A monthly collaborative art program for teens!
The next installment in the new collaborative art series between the Ventress Memorial Library and the North Rivers Arts society, Art Break! This program, sponsored by the Friends of the Ventress Memorial Library, will run once a month in 2026. Each class will feature a project aimed at teaching new skills, or learning about different forms of art and art centric careers! Registration appreciated!
Teen Advisory Board
Last Tuesday of the Month 6:00PM – 7:00PM
The Ventress Memorial Library Teen Zone has monthly Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meetings. The advisory board will plan and implement programs and help shape the future direction of Teen Services at the Library. Attendance at these meetings can be counted towards volunteer hours, but to do so, make sure to fill out our volunteer form on the library website and register. Have questions? Teen Tabletop Gaming
Thursdays 5 PM – 6 PM
Check out the Teen RPG Meetup and Teen Miniature Club on alternating Thursday evenings! The RPG Meetup is playing Dolmenwood, a fantasy RPG campaign, and the Miniature Club is playing Chrome Rangers, a 1-on-1 giant robot fighting game. New players are always welcome!
