If your question is not answered here, feel free to contact us.

Yes. There are also public restrooms available at the food pantry entrance facing the playground, open Monday through Saturday 9am to 4pm.
Yes, the children's room is open for browsing. Note that there are very few toys available at this time.
Yes. Please put your payment in the labelled box in the book sale area.
We have a quiet area (no speaking or cell phone use) with study carrels in the back corner of the main library area that anyone can use to study. Teens can also study in the teen room. For tutoring or group studying, we have tables available behind the large print section by the main bank of windows where quiet conversation is permitted.
Yes; please submit meeting room requests here at least 3 business days ahead of time. (Note that the quiet study room is no longer available.) Unreserved meeting rooms are available for up to 2 hours on a first-come first-served basis, but we encourage everyone to reserve their room in advance to ensure that there will be one available.
We are now accepting returns at either the circulation desk or in the outdoor book drop. Please return items like hot spots and children's backpack kits at the circulation desk.
Can I return items from other libraries here?
Most items from any other OCLN library can be returned at the Ventress. A few items like museum passes, board games, and electronic equipment should be returned directly to the owning library. If you're not sure where a specific item can be returned, please contact the owning library.
Note that the Clift Rodgers Library is not part of OCLN and their items should be returned directly to them.
We are no longer quarantining returns. If an item is still checked out on your account the day after you returned it, please contact us.
Many popular items have long hold lists, and you may need to wait a long time before it’s your turn to get the item. If you place a hold on an item that is available on the shelf at a different library, it will take approximately 3 - 4 days for the item to be ready for you in Marshfield.
Yes, but you must have their library card with you. You will not be allowed to pick up another person's holds without it unless you have both opted in by signing a library card group form. Forms can be requested by phone or at the circulation desk.
We have after-hours lockers outside the front door. If you’d like to pick up your items from a locker after we’ve closed, please contact us at least 2 hours before we close. We will leave your items in the locker for 24 hours.
You can sign up for a library card in person at the library or at one of our summer pop-up library events around town. Please bring a photo ID with your current address on it, or a photo ID plus some other proof of address (e.g. a piece of mail received at home). Your library card lets you check out items at any OCLN library and gives you access to our online services and electronic media (such as ebooks, e-audiobooks, and streaming video) as well.
Alternatively, you can sign up for a temporary ecard here. You can use your ecard to check out electronic media and place holds on physical items. When you come into the library to check out, we will ask to see a photo ID and proof of address and issue you a permanent physical card to replace your ecard.
If you already have a card from another library in the OCLN network, you can use that card at Marshfield as well. If you used to have an OCLN library card but can’t find it now, please come in or call us and we will issue you a replacement with a new number.
Your PIN is OCLN by default if you've never changed it. If that doesn't work, please call us and we can reset it.
You can pay fines of $5 or more by credit or debit card online by logging in to our catalog. (Click "Log In" in the top bar to log in, then click "My Account" and go to the "Fines/Fees" tab.) You can also pay your fines by cash or check at the library in person. Note that we cannot accept credit or debit cards for in-person payments.
The Friends of Library book sale is now accepting donations of like-new or gently used books, DVDs, CDs, and jigsaw puzzles on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Donations are currently limited to one box or bag per person per day. Please refrain from donating textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS and cassette tapes, or any moldy or damaged books.
You can leave any additional book donations in the 3rd party donation bins around the corner on the right side of the library. Please do not leave donations on the ground or in the book drop.
If you park close to the bank of windows on the side of the library facing the playground, you can usually access our public wifi on your device at any time of day. We also have wifi hot spots you can use at home to connect your own computer, tablet, or phone to the internet - please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and library card number or call us at 781-834-5535 if you are interested in borrowing one.
We are offering a number of virtual events including books groups, virtual Zoom storytimes for children, a writing group, and a monthly virtual adult event. Please refer to the event calendar. We also have a weekly children’s Take and Make craft project and an ongoing Summer Reading Challenge for all ages.
Yes - you can see our available museum passes and book a pass for yourself here. Some passes will provide a virtual discount code that you can use to purchase tickets, and some passes require you to pick up a physical pass at the library. Most passes currently require you to reserve timed tickets from the museum by phone or online in advance of your visit. Please read the description for each pass carefully, and check the museum's website for the most up-to-date visiting information.
Note that some museums are still closed, or are not accepting library discount passes; at this time, the only passes we have available are the ones listed at the above link.
